Follow the capital, not the commentary
Where can you find real AI signal? Not Reddit. Not YouTube demos. Not the LinkedIn posts talking about the latest model drop.
Follow the money. The biggest AI companies have raised billions — not to build better models, but to deploy the ones that already exist. OpenAI, Anthropic, and others have partnered with Goldman Sachs, Blackstone, and major enterprise firms on deployment-specific ventures.
They are not using that capital to build better models. They now know exactly what the current models can do. And they know that organizations are the limiting factor.
The "Is it ready?" question has been answered with real capital.
The SMB window
And while that capital is flowing heavily into helping larger companies adopt AI, that adoption will be slowed by committees, technical debt, and governance reviews. The friction in large enterprises cannot be overstated.
SMBs have a different reality, and a real window of opportunity. You can move faster, test quickly, and compound while your larger competitors work through their constraints.
In past technology waves, waiting for others to go first was often the smart play. This technology compounds with time.
So the question isn't where the AI signal is. If you're an SMB leader, the real question is: What are you going to do with it?
